Lawson C.I.A. are in need of a lot of shoes. They will be used for a display to show the lives lost from drinking and driving. The shoes will be donated to charity after the display is complete.
On March 12th, C.I.A. will be sponsoring a Game Night at Lawson High School from 6:00 p.m.

The Ray County Coalition and the Ray County Youth Advisory Council (RC YAC) will be hosting the 2nd Annual Gala on April 3, 2010 at Mellon's Community Center in Lawson. Tickets are on sale for $25 per person. There will be dinner, a silent auction, a live auction, and dancing. Plan on attending for an enjoyable evening!

Coalition

The Ray County Coalition recognized volunteers at their Annual Luncheon Meeting August 13th at the United Christian Presbyterian Church in Richmond. 36th District Representative spoke to the group about the Power of Volunteerism, lauding their willingness to give their time on preventing substance abuse and violence. The coalition received their second national award for their contribution to the rural alcohol and drug abuse field.

Governor Nixon signed HB 62 on July 9th, 2009. HB 62 is the omnibus crime bill that included the ban of the alcohol without liquid devices (AWOL). This law will go into effect August 28th, 2009.
Thank you to all the Missouri Youth Adult Alliance (MYAA), coalition members and various community members that advocated and educated to ensure our law makers were aware of the dangers AWOL machines can have on our youth. Your tireless efforts made this ban possible.
